Who this is for

  • Undergraduate and MBA candidates targeting front-office finance roles
  • Lateral candidates moving from one bank to another, or from sell-side to buy-side
  • Career switchers. Engineers, lawyers, military, consultants. Moving into finance
  • Senior candidates interviewing for VP, Director, and MD-level roles
  • Anyone interviewing for a role where “Why this firm? Why this group?” is a make-or-break question

What we’ll cover

  • Behavioral and fit. Why finance, why this firm, why this group, why this seat. The questions every shop asks, in their own dialect.
  • Resume walkthrough. A clean, two-minute walk that lands the points an analyst or VP wants to hear.
  • Stories. Three to five stories that cover leadership, teamwork, failure, ethics, and impact. The building blocks for every behavioral question.
  • Technicals. Accounting, valuation, M&A, LBO mechanics, and the curveballs. We focus on the questions you’re most likely to face given the role.
  • Markets and current events. A framework for staying current and answering “what stock would you pitch?” without freezing.
  • Superday strategy. How to manage energy across five back-to-back interviews, what to ask each interviewer, and how to follow up.

How it works

1. Free 15-minute consultation. Tell me which firms, which groups, and the timeline.

2. Diagnostic. I review your resume, your existing prep notes, and a written sample answer to a behavioral question. We identify the gaps.

3. Behavioral and fit sessions. We build out your stories and your “why this firm” narrative for each target.

4. Technical drilling. Sessions calibrated to the role. Light technicals for asset management, heavy LBO for PE, valuation-focused for IB and ER.

5. Mock superdays. Back-to-back mocks that simulate the actual format. We debrief between rounds.

Why this works in finance

Finance interviewers screen for two things: technical fluency and judgment under pressure. Most candidates over-rotate on technicals because they’re easier to study. Then they bomb the behavioral round because they walk in with rehearsed-sounding stories that don’t hold up to follow-ups.

The fix is to over-prepare on behavioral and technicals, then practice them in the same conditions you’ll face on the day.

What clients say

“Great experience, and I would recommend The Interview Professional to any individual who is preparing for any sort of professional interview. Their sessions are very unique and extremely beneficial.”

FAQ

Do you cover technicals? Yes. Especially the conceptual questions where most candidates get tripped up. For deep modeling tests, I’ll point you to additional resources.

Which firms have your clients placed at? Bulge bracket banks, elite boutiques, top PE shops, and major asset managers. I’ll share specifics on the consultation call.

How early should I start? Six to eight weeks before recruiting starts is ideal. I take same-week clients for specific upcoming interviews.

Do you work with MBA candidates during recruiting season? Yes. MBA finance recruiting is a large part of my practice.
