FAQ
Frequently asked questions.
Quick answers to what most candidates ask before booking. If your question is not here, the free 15-minute call is the fastest way to get it answered.
01 — Getting started
Before we work together.
Who is interview coaching for?
Anyone who wants to walk into an interview with a clearer strategy, stronger answers, and more confidence. Clients include candidates preparing for jobs in finance, consulting, and tech, MBA applicants, medical school and residency candidates, senior professionals interviewing for executive roles, and career switchers who need to tell a new story.
How do I know if coaching is the right fit?
Coaching is a strong fit if you are getting interviews but not offers, if your answers feel generic or memorized, if you freeze on follow-up questions, or if you are trying to explain a pivot, GPA, gap, sponsorship issue, or nontraditional path. If you are not sure, the free 15-minute call is built for exactly that question.
What happens during the free 15-minute consultation?
It is a short conversation about the role, the timeline, your resume, and where you feel stuck. You leave with a clear sense of whether coaching is right for you and, if so, what we would work on first. There is no pressure to book a paid session on the call.
Do I need to have an interview scheduled before reaching out?
No. Many clients start coaching before they have an interview lined up, so we can build the resume, the stories, and the talk track ahead of time. Others reach out the week of a final round. Both work.
How quickly can we start?
Usually within a few days. If your interview is in the next 72 hours, mention that when you book the consultation and we will prioritize the slot. The Interview Rescue Session is designed for urgent prep.
02 — Sessions and format
How the coaching works.
Are sessions virtual?
Yes. All sessions are virtual over Zoom or Google Meet, which is also the format most real interviews now use. Practicing on the same software you will use on interview day is part of the point.
How long is each session?
Standard coaching sessions are 60 minutes. Mock interviews run 60 to 90 minutes depending on the role, so we have time for the interview, the debrief, and notes you can act on before the real conversation.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on what you are walking in with and what you are walking into. Some clients land their offer after a single mock. Most do three to five sessions across stories, mocks, and final-round prep. We figure out the right number together on the free call.
What do I need to bring to the first session?
Your resume, the job description (if you have one), and any prep notes you have already made. That is enough to get started. If you do not have a target role yet, we work from your background and the kinds of roles you are targeting.
Do you give homework between sessions?
Yes, but the homework is specific and short. Usually it is rewriting one or two stories, drafting a “tell me about yourself,” or watching a clip of yourself on the last mock to spot the one habit we want to fix next.
03 — Urgent interviews
If your interview is days away.
Can you help if my interview is in 48 hours?
Yes. The Interview Rescue Session is built for candidates with an interview in the next 72 hours. The goal is not to learn everything. The goal is to fix the answers most likely to cost you the offer, pressure-test your weak spots, and run the follow-up questions that generic prep usually misses.
What if I have a final round next week?
That is the most common case. The Final Round Package focuses on closing, objection handling, role fit, and company-specific answers. We usually do two to three sessions in the week before, depending on how many rounds you have left.
I have a Superday on Friday. Is it too late?
Probably not. Most Superday prep that matters is decided in the last 48 hours: tightening the story, locking in the technicals you will actually be asked, and practicing the follow-ups. Book the free call, tell me the firm and group, and we will plan.
04 — Pricing and guarantee
What it costs, and the refund.
How much does coaching cost?
Pricing depends on the package and the role you are interviewing for. Hourly coaching, multi-session packages, and rescue sessions are all priced differently. We discuss pricing on the free 15-minute call once we know what you actually need.
What is the first-session refund guarantee?
If your first paid session does not feel like the right fit, I refund it in full. No questions asked. The goal of the free call is to make sure that almost never happens, but the guarantee is there so you can try the work without the risk.
How do I pay?
Invoices are sent after the free 15-minute call. Most clients pay by Zelle, Venmo, or PayPal. Larger packages can be split over the engagement when that makes sense.
Can my employer or school sponsor coaching?
Sometimes. Career services offices, EAPs, and outplacement programs occasionally cover coaching. I am happy to provide an invoice and a short description of the work for reimbursement.
05 — Who this is for
Industries, roles, and where I work.
Which industries do you coach?
Finance, consulting, tech (engineering, product, sales, customer success), MBA admissions, medical school and residency, healthcare, education, and senior leadership roles across most sectors. The full Services page has the breakdown.
Do you coach for technical interviews?
I coach the behavioral, story, and project-deep-dive side of technical interviews — the part where most candidates lose the offer. I do not run LeetCode or system-design drills. If you need a pure coding coach, I will say so on the consultation.
Are you based in Los Angeles? Do you work with non-LA clients?
I am based in Los Angeles and coach virtually with clients across LA, North America, and globally. Time zone is rarely an issue. If you are LA-based, see the LA Interview Coach page for local context.
What if I am still in school?
Many clients are. Undergrads preparing for first-round, summer internship, and full-time recruiting, MBA candidates with admissions or summer interviews, and med school applicants are a regular part of the practice.
